The mission of Nursing at Harris Health System is to provide high quality health and healing services to our patients, their families and the community, while honoring the legacy and healing ministry of our nurses who have served Houston’s most vulnerable patients for nearly 50 years. Harris Health Nursing has a rich past, dynamic present and promising future.

Harris Health Nursing Leadership invests in its people resources, to support and promote nursing at all levels. Harris Health Nursing leaders partner and engage with nurse clinicians to meet Nursing Service’s strategic goals.

Nursing’s Strategic Plan provides vision for advancing nursing practice based on its goals. One of the goals is to develop a nursing organization with the attributes of a collaborative, learning organization. Nursing Professional Practice Model
Harris Health's Nursing Professional Practice Model (NPPM) is a framework for evidence-based, patient-centered nursing practices that place the patient in the best position to heal.
