HOUSTON (Sept. 23, 2010) – Children in Acres Home and Northwest Houston and the Aldine area now have new medical homes to fulfill all their healthcare needs — everything from well-child exams to immunizations and sports physicals.
Acres Home and Aldine health centers, part of the Harris County Hospital District, are now offering pediatric services.
“Our pediatric providers are specially trained to care for the unique needs of infants, children and teenagers,” said Christina Mintner, director, Pediatrics. “They work closely together to ensure continuity of care and scheduling flexibility, which allows children and parents to develop a strong relationship with their healthcare provider.”
Acres Home and Aldine health centers offer comprehensive pediatric services with:
- The ability to treat acute and chronic diseases
- Well-child care
- Newborn follow-up
- Laboratory procedures
- Sports physicals
- On-site pharmacy
- Health education
- Coordinate other necessary healthcare services

Pediatricians are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., except on Wednesdays when they start seeing patients at 1 p.m.
The Harris County Hospital District accepts many major health plans, most managed care plans and all Medicaid/CHIP plans.
