Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Harris Health System helps patients recover from all types of injuries, illnesses and acute and chronic conditions.

Patients undergo a comprehensive evaluation by a team of physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, speech-language pathologists, social workers and dietitians. Based on the results, functional outcomes and patient/caregiver goals are set.

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Program provides specialized care for an array of disabilities, including stroke and cardiac conditions, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, multiple traumas, amputations, orthopedic injuries and neuromuscular and neurological disorders. The program recently created Stroke of Hope Support Group for stroke survivors and their caregivers to receive professional guidance, information and coping strategies.
