What is the Patient and Family Advisory Council? The Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) consists of patients and family members who have had recent experiences with Harris Health. PFAC members represent the voice of patients and can provide input on programs, policies, procedures and processes that contribute to a positive patient experience.
Examples of PFAC agenda items:
- Discharge planning folder
- Inpatient whiteboards
- E-quality boards
- Messaging to patients
- Meal planning and selection
- Nurses and doctors listening
- New patient hub
- Patient education
Who should join?
Harris Health patients or family members who have had a recent experience in our hospitals and can:
- Share their experience in a constructive way
- Participate in a monthly meeting with hospital leadership
- Educate staff by providing honest feedback about experiences
- Listen respectfully to other perspectives
- Engage in hospital projects and committees as needed
