Worker’s Compensation Policy

​Purpose: To provide guidelines for administering Workers' Compensation benefits for Harris Health employees.
  1. All Harris Health employees are eligible for Worker's Compensation benefits for work-related accidents, illnesses, or injuries sustained during employment, in accordance with Texas Workers' Compensation laws. 
  2. Definitions:
    • Bona Fide Offer of Employment: A formal offer of modified or alternate work within the employee's medical restrictions, including details such as job location, schedule, pay, and physical requirements. 
    • Claims: A formal request for Worker's Compensation benefits. 
    • Compensable Injury: Work-related injuries or illnesses eligible for compensation under the law. 
    • Course and Scope of Employment: Activities related to the employer's business or profession.
