Harris Health is a governmental agency within Harris County and is led by a Board of Trustees comprised of nine members appointed by Harris County Commissioners Court. Trustees give generously of their time, talent and leadership to Harris Health, as they serve in an unpaid capacity.
The Board is entrusted with establishing Harris Health’s mission, vision and values, and are fiduciary stewards of the system’s resources on behalf of the public. Trustees are responsible for the selection and oversight of the system’s president and chief executive officer, and the overall governance and management of the system as provided by Chapter 281 of the Texas Health and Safety Code, and as delegated by Harris County Commissioners Court.
