Outpatient Clinical Nutrition Services

Harris Health System offers comprehensive nutrition education and counseling by registered clinical dietitians. Our nutrition services team educates patients on proper nutrition and habits that promote healthy lifestyles and improve health and quality of life.

Dietitians
Harris Health’s clinical dietitians are healthcare professionals who are trained in providing nutrition education and counseling to patients.

Dietitians work with patients with many different health issues such as weight management, diabetes, hypertension, cancer and chronic kidney disease.

Clinical Nutrition Services Available

  • Introduction to Nutrition Class – covering basic nutrition and healthy eating habits for everyone
  • Diabetes Nutrition Class – reviewing how to plan healthy, balanced meals to help maintain stable blood sugar levels
  • Fresh Foodies Program – three-week program that includes grocery shopping tips, food label reading, a grocery store tour and food demonstrations
  • Choose to Lose Weight Management Program – 12-week weight-loss program focusing on health, wellness and lifestyle changes through peer support and challenges
  • Individual Appointments – 30-minute one-on-one visit with a clinical dietitian to discuss nutrition questions and create an individualized nutrition plan
