Harris Health is a community-focused academic healthcare system dedicated to improving the health of those most in need in Harris County through quality care delivery, coordination of care, and education. While medical care is not free at our facilities, there is financial assistance for those who qualify. Based on your household income, you may qualify for partial financial assistance, on a sliding scale. To qualify for financial assistance, household income may not exceed 150% of the Federal Poverty Level.
If you have questions regarding eligibility and how to apply, renew or obtain the status of your application, call the Eligibility Call Center at 713-566-6509. The call center is available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The fourth Friday of the month, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
There is not a fee to apply for the Harris Health Financial Assistance Program. If you are asked for money to fill out and approve your application, do not send any money. Please report these incidents to Harris Health’s Compliance Hotline at 844-565-0621.
Harris Health’s Financial Assistance Program is not an insurance plan. Harris Health does not provide health insurance coverage under the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace Exchange.

In keeping with its mission, Harris Health prepares an annual report. This report is public information. It is filed with the Texas Department of State Health Services, and is available to the public upon request to the Center for Health Services, Texas Department of State Health Services, 1100 West 49th Street, Austin, Texas 78756-3199. This report is filed each May.
