Conflict Resolution in the Workplace Policy

Purpose: To foster collaboration, teamwork, mutual respect, and high standards of conduct among Harris Health workforce members.

All workforce members are required to treat colleagues and others with courtesy, dignity, and respect. They are encouraged to resolve conflicts using internal resources and conflict-management skills.

  • Inappropriate Conduct: Unacceptable behavior in the workplace or outside that negatively impacts the workplace. Examples include:
    • Verbal abuse, combative, or aggressive behavior.
    • Refusal to communicate regarding work-related concerns.
    • Use of condescending or disrespectful language or tone.
  • Disruptive Behavior: Activities that negatively affect interactions in Harris Health facilities.
  • Threatening Or Intimidating Behavior: An expressed or implied threat made that interferes with an individual's physical or emotional well-being or safety and that causes a reasonable fear that harm or an injury is about to occur.
