Mother-Friendly Workplace Policy

​Purpose: To support Harris Health employees who are breastfeeding mothers by providing necessary accommodations. 

Policy Statement: Harris Health acknowledges the health benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child and supports employees in breastfeeding or expressing breast milk. 
  1. Policy Elaborations:
    • Supervisors are required to allow flexible work schedules and reasonable break times for breastfeeding or expressing milk. 
    • Harris Health provides private, accessible locations (not bathrooms) for employees to express breast milk or breastfeed. These spaces must ensure privacy, shielded from view, and free from intrusion.
