Guest Wi-Fi Terms of Service

​Introduction
Harris Health System ("Harris Health”," "we,"  "us," or “our”) makes Internet access available to patients, family members of patients, Workforce Members, and guests (“user”, “you” or “your”) through the Harris Health System Wireless Network (the "Network"). The Network is provided as a courtesy, for your convenience and short-term use while at a Harris Health facility. A user’s continued access to the Network is subject to their acceptance and compliance with this Guest Wi-Fi Terms of Service Policy (“TOS"). The TOS governs your use of the Network. Harris Health reserves the right to amend, alter, or modify this TOS at any time.

By connecting to the Network, you accept and agree to be bound and abide by the TOS, as it may be amended. If you do not want to agree to this TOS, you must not access or use the Network.

Disclaimer
You understand and acknowledge that your use of the Network is at your own risk. Harris Health offers no guarantees that the Network is secure, your information will remain private, or that you will not be exposed to viruses or hacking. Harris Health is not responsible for any any loss, injury, or damages that may result from your use of  the Network. 

Release of Liability
YOU AGREE TO RELEASE HARRIS HEALTH AND ITS BOARD OF TRUSTEES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM ANY LIABILITY THAT MAY ARISE FROM YOUR USE OF THE NETWORK, INCLUDING FOR LOSS OR COMPROMISE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION (E.G. CREDIT CARD) OR FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO  HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE DUE TO SECURITY ISSUES OR CONSEQUENCES CAUSED BY VIRUSES OR HACKING. 

Prohibited Uses
You may use the Network only for lawful purposes and in accordance with this TOS. You agree NOT to use the Network:
  • In a way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation including, without limitation, any laws regarding the export of data or software to and from the US or other countries; 
  • In any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair the Network or interfere with any other person's use of the Network, including their ability to engage in real time activities through the Network;
  • For the purpose of exploiting, harming, or attempting to exploit or harm any minor by exposing the minor to inappropriate content, asking for personally identifiable information, or otherwise;
  • To introduce any viruses, trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other software or material which is malicious or technologically harmful;
  • To send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use, or re-use any material which violates the rights of any individual or entity;
  • To send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use, or re-use any material which promotes sexually explicit or pornographic material, violence, or any illegal activity, or advocates, promotes, or assists any unlawful act.
  • To send or procure the sending of any advertising or promotional material, including any "junk mail," "chain letter," "spam," or any other similar solicitation;
  • To impersonate or attempt to impersonate Harris Health, a Harris Health employee, another user, or any other person or entity (including, without limitation, by using e-mail addresses or screen names associated with any of the foregoing);
  • To monitor or copy any Network traffic or resources available on the Network or for any other unauthorized purpose without our prior written consent 
  • To violate, attempt to violate, or knowingly facilitate the violation of the security,  integrity or proper working of the Network, including by deploying a robot, spider, or other automatic device, process or means (e.g., packet sniffing); or
  • To engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits a person’s use or enjoyment of the Network, or which, as determined by us, may harm Harris Health or users of the Network or expose them to liability.

Enforcement
Harris Health, in its sole discretion, may determine whether your conduct is in compliance with this TOS. We have the right to:
  • Monitor your use of the Network for any purpose in accordance with applicable laws and standards;
  • Take any action we deem necessary or appropriate in our sole discretion if we believe your conduct violates this TOS or threatens the personal safety of users of the Network or the public;
  • Take appropriate legal action, including without limitation, referral to and cooperation with law enforcement, for any illegal or unauthorized use of the Network; or 
  • Terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Network for any or no reason, including without limitation, any violation of this TOS.
