Harris Health Launches New Awareness Campaign ‘We Live This’

HOUSTON (June 28, 2023)—Harris Health has launched a brand awareness campaign to better educate the public on its role as the public safety-net healthcare provider for uninsured and underinsured residents of Harris County. The ‘We Live This’ campaign began in May with limited print and digital advertisements, with plans for more community outreach activities, public relations efforts and paid media placements in billboards, radio and television.

The campaign will focus on Harris Health's unique mission of providing care to all residents, its incredible staff that serve the community and the scope of services and locations it has throughout Harris County.

“We want to educate our community about who we are, what we do and what we mean to the community,” says Esmaeil Porsa, MD, president and CEO, Harris Health. “We recently announced our strategic facilities plan and how it will address our community’s growing needs and address quality improvements and enhance better patient outcomes.”

Over the next several months and into the coming year, Harris Health will strategically deploy the ‘We Live This’ campaign throughout the community. Its roll out coincides with Harris Health’s $2.9 billion strategic facilities plan that calls for construction of a new Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital replacement, major upgrades to existing Ben Taub Hospital and a huge investment of new outpatient and specialty facilities.

“We know that Harris County and Houston is a crowded healthcare market—making it difficult to capture the public's attention,” says Olga Rodriguez, vice president, Community Engagement, Mission Advancement and Corporate Communications, Harris Health. “Through research, we know many non-Harris Health users do not know who Harris Health is or understand the value we provide our community. The same research shows that once educated, Harris County residents tend to support our mission and recognize our important role.”

A major component of the facilities plan is a $2.5 billion bond referendum that Harris Health has formally requested Harris County Commissioners Court to place on the ballot for the November 2023 election.

“‘We Live This’ embodies the true commitment of all the great staff at Harris Health,” Rodriguez adds. “We hope this campaign brings them a sense of pride and excitement and an appreciation of being part of the Harris Health family.”
