Do you want to thank a nurse for extraordinary care? Harris Health System is proud to partner with the DAISY Foundation to present the DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award® for extraordinary nurses.
The award is an international program that recognizes excellence in nursing. Nurses are nominated by patients, family members of patients and staff for going above and beyond to provide high-quality care.
The DAISY Foundation™ was started in memory of Patrick Barnes by his family who was touched by the care he received from his nurses. Barnes died at age 33 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). When he was ill, the Barnes family was in awe of the skill, care and compassion provided by his nurses. They created the award to say thank you to nurses around the world.
