Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer
Omar Reid is executive vice president and chief people officer at Harris Health System. He has served as the chief human resources executive at Harris Health since 2016. With more than 9,500 full-time employees in the organization, Reid is responsible for all human resources (HR) programs, policies and initiatives including talent acquisition, organizational development, talent management, employee and labor relations, compensation, benefits, HR information systems, the Harris Health School of Diagnostic Medical Imaging, occupational health, spiritual care, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Before joining Harris Health, Reid served as the HR director for the City of Houston for six years, and more than 25 years at United Parcel Service in various operational and administrative capacities. He is a nationally recognized speaker on leadership, transformation and change.
Reid earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston-Downtown (UH-D) and his Master of Business Administration from Texas Southern University (TSU). He also serves as a corporate fellow at UH-D and is an adjunct professor at TSU’s School of Public Policy.
